Bank Account

Opening Bank Account in the UK is slightly different from Indonesia. If you have to open a conventional Bank Account, you need to make an appointment with the bank prior to your visit. It may take a few weeks/months during the peak season (September-October) to get the appointment. Digital bank accounts such as Monzo, Revolut, or Starling might help you during the first few weeks in Manchester. You will need to bring the following documents when opening a bank account:

• Your passport and BRP to prove your identity (original documents)

There are many banks in the UK (HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds Bank, Santander, NatWest), so the best way to choose it is to look at what the different banks are offering students.
